Fresh Twist on Skin

Rise and shine beautiful!

It’s time to wash away your sleepy eyes and revive your bright and beautiful skin!

The talk of Page6 Warehouse has been about new way to tone our complexions. So I have made it my latest mission to find three all natural and cleansing masks that could correct all problem areas. I developed the masks around my coworkers and the problem areas they have with their complexions. The best part was that the ingredients I used are easy to find and available at the grocery store down the street or even your kitchen.

How would you describe your skin?

A) Myself: “Very dry and dull. My face is very sensitive and always looks flushed.”

B) Courtney: “Dry.  Sometimes I notice discoloration  in my skin, as well as,  acne scaring from my early twenties. “

C) Liza: “I have dry/oily skin. I must be careful with products I use, because my skin is very sensitive and prone to breakouts.”

A) Passion Fruite Mask “Reduces redness & softens skin”

DSC_0426

This green mask is avocado based. First I puréed half of a very ripe avocado. I added 1 teaspoon of organic coconut oil , half of a ripe bananas and 3 drops of honey to sweeten it up. Mix or mash all  ingredients together or until blended.  Spread evenly on your face  and let it sit for 5 minutes.

B) Coffee Break Mask “Tightens pores, Brightens Skin, and help reduce discoloration”DSC_0421

Yum Coffee! To create this look, mix 1/2 cup of plain yogurt and 2 tablespoons of ground coffee beans into a ceramic bowl. This will form a pasty substance. Add 3 drops of honey before mixing well. Spread evenly on your face and let it stand for 5 minutes.

C) Natures Sweetness Mask: “Brightens your complexion while softens the look and feel of skin.”

DSC_0410

This mask was gooey and fun to make! Take 1/2 of a banana and mash it into a bowl. Next add 2 tablespoons of Quaker Oats and 3 Drops of honey. To finish the mask add 1 teaspoon of vanilla to add some fragrance. Mix all ingredients together before spreading evenly on your face. Let the mask stand for 5 minutes.

I hope you have fun and enjoy recreating the mask!

Summer Go-To

I can not help but love the sun right now. Classes are finally coming to an end and I am ready to pull all my attention out of the books and into my closet style. With work, vacations, and friendly get togethers around the corner, I realized I was going to have a lot of decisions to make on what to wear. Of course I’m not the only one in this situation. I believe every woman needs at least three go-to’s items in her closet at all times. For me, I chose timeless pieces from Page 6 Boutique I could see my self restyling everyday.

1. The Perfect Maxi:

While rummaging through the gorgeous clothes of Page 6 Warehouse, my eyes caught a glimpse of the beautiful “Monet Maxi” Dress. I immediately fell in love with the vibrant and bold colors found on the Maxi. I found it very unique because the print is reminiscent of a ‘impressionism’ painting. Hints of crochet line the chest and back to add some flirt while adjustable straps allow me to customize my look. Maxi dresses are a great staple piece to have in your closet. You can always dress them up or down for any occasion. {I also styled it with the “Ogden Bracelets” and “Essential Wedge- Tan”- available at our Fort Mill location – call 803.548.0559 to order}

DSC_2426       DSC_2430

2. Flirty Bralette

The next item that stole my heart, was the “Nahoon Lace Bralette” -White. This is a great item for so many reasons. One: you can style it multiple ways and layer it under any top, shaw, kimono, or under garment. Two: the bralette it’s self has great support and lays very comfortable on your shoulders and skin. Today, I chose to style it under “Raw Textile Top” and the “Corie Cutoff Shorts“.

DSC_2438       DSC_2436

3. Bold Shorts

Last but not least, every women needs some fun colorful shorts! For me, this style can be a little out of my comfort zone but the “Imogen Shorts” are just what I needed to break out. These shorts scream FUN! They feature a unique faux-sarong that ties comfortably at the waist to create a skirt-like look. These shorts are very flattering,  yet they add enough girly spice for a flirty look. You will have tons of fun dressing these up or down the for any summer activity! I paired my shorts with the “Mimosa Top“- Navy and a cute “Straw Fedora“- Chocolate

DSC_2469      DSC_2463

I hope everyone just has fun styling! If you can, wonder out of your comfort zone. You may find a go-to item out of something you never thought you could pull off before. Clothing is a great way to standout from the rest and show off some fabulous looks. Come visit Page 6 Boutique, because they will be your go-to boutique this summer!

DIY: How to Make Flower Crown

Flower Crowns are a beautiful way to express yourself. As a flower child at heart they are my first go to accessory for festivals, family weddings, and outdoor concerts. Flower Crowns seem to be taking the world by storm, and I think it is safe to say they are not going anywhere.  So I’m going to take my own twist on this gorgeous accessory and show my how-to designs for perfecting this gorgeous summer must have.

{Please click image for larger detail}

6

With some patients and the right supplies I was able to create this beautiful piece that will last all summer.

Floral Crown Supplies:  I found everything I needed at Michaels

  • Floral Wire
  • Floral Tape
  • Floral Wire Cutters
  • Greenery {optional}
  • Flowers {Real or Faux}

gg

Depending on the color scheme or how big you want the crown to be, you can choose any kind of flower you’d like. And if you want to make a flower crown that will last for more than a few days, you can even use faux flowers like I did.

Instructions:

1. Take a long piece of floral wire and form it into a circle around the circumference of your head {I preferred to make my wire longer, because I used larger flowers} . Cut off excessive wire, and tape the circle shut with floral tape. {I wrapped the floral tape around half of my crown to create greenery}

wire1

2. Choose your greens and flowers. You’ll want to start your crown with a layer of pretty greenery that covers the wire, which will act as the base of your crown. Once you have your greenery, your ready to start!

3. It’s time to add your flowers. I chose to work with a pink, and purple color scheme adding in white when needed. To attach each flower to the crown, I cut the flower stems at least 3 inches long {you can cut off excess stems with scissors or wire cutters when product is finished}, using the excess floral tape or wire, wrap the stem of the flower to the crown.  {see photo below}

nat

This process will take some time, but once you find a secure way to wrap your flowers the process will become easier.

4. Add as many or as little flowers as you’d like. I set a base of light pink roses. As my focal piece then I added a large white Peony with a few pops of bright purple flowers to complete my crown.

Page 6 Models Dating Survey 101

blog

Dating Survey 101: I wanted to ask our girls about dating and what their opinions were on certain subjects. I apologize in advance if the questions and answers are a little “out there” but I wanted honesty and lets just say thats what I got! :)

nat blog

Natalie What do you look for in a guy?

“There is nothing more I find attractive in a man than confidence & a charming smile. I also look for achievable ambitions & if you can make me laugh!”

What is your favorite feature on a guy?

“Strong sexy arms make me weak at the knees. Whoo, I guess its just the feeling of them wrapped around me tight that I love so much”

What is your ideal first date?

“I have experienced some outrageous first dates! Honestly you have to go above and beyond to impress me. In my eyes a successful date is just enjoy each others time laughing, sharing stories & yummy food”

Do you think that in a relationship that the guy should financially support you or should it be equal?

“My parents share absolutely everything down to their last name. There is no yours, or mine, only ours! Financially I plan to help my future hubby!”

Do you believe in “Online Dating”?

“Personally, no! I do not have a Tinder nor do I need one.I usually delete messages That I receive via Facebook. I want a man to approach me in person and ask me out, not through his computer. I told you I look for confidence in a man!”

Are you more of a “texter” or a “over the phone talker”?

“Texting is convenient but I love hearing my honeys voice on the phone. For me its much more intimate. I would much rather hear about my boyfriends day than read about it in a text.”

Do all of your friends date?

“Of course my girls & I have date night! Haha girls night out is the best excuse to catch up on boy drama, some wine and Disney movies”

Would you date someone that your family disapproves of?

“Stop it! Haha of course my family has hated a guy but that didn’t stop me! It should have, but we always want what we can’t have. I’ve made the mistakes and now that I’m older I respect their opinion because we both only want what’s best for me!”

Who pays on a date?

“Once you make me your girlfriend, I have no problem splitting the cost. I might whine a little at first but in the end I really like to surprise my honey and treat him on a fun night out!”

What is a nonnegotiable?

“I hate driving! Feel free to take my car, but don’t you dare ask me who’s driving! That’s nonnegotiable babe!”

What is an embarrassing moment you have had on a date?

“I was so embarrassed but my boyfriend had dropped me off after a study date. It was one of the first times we hung out together and started to develop feelings, well I was trying to successfully climb out of his car when my shoe got stuck on his book bag and completely popped off my foot! I didn’t know what else to do but turn red & hop to my car. He made me laugh so hard!”

What are deal breakers with a guy for you?

“Crazy ex-girlfriend just need to disappear! Along with sketchy men. It’s a clear sign if you changed my name to Nathan in your contacts that you probably shouldn’t date anyone…uh ever!”

court blog

Courtney What do you look for in a guy?

“Well, this is a loaded question.  What I looked for in guys when I was in my teens & early to mid twenties is much different than the man I am blessed to have now or what I think I would look for if I were still single. I looked for all the wrong things in the past. I’m not sure I knew what I even wanted until love found me. I know now what I want, because I have it. I was blessed with more than my heart ever could imagine. My boyfriend (and love of my life) has upstanding character, he puts me before himself, he loves me for who I am & has no intention of changing me (nor do I feel like I have to). He respects me. He makes me a better person. He is grounded in who he is as a person & his beliefs. His beliefs & the way he lives his life, lines up with how I want to live my life. I feel comfortable to be without makeup & to sing in front of him (two things I’m not comfortable to do in front of most people). It’s easy & nothing is ever forced. He is my best friend. (did I mention that he is handsome too!?!!) They say you’ll know when you’ve found the right one when you find them… well, I totally didn’t think that was true until he came along. Now, I can confirm that statement to be true!”

What is your favorite feature on a guy?

“Dimples/jawline (my man has both! <3)”

What is your ideal first date?

“Can I be honest? I hated first dates. I’m so glad I am past that point. I’m more of a second date & beyond kind of girl. Let’s get past the false pretenses & down to the heart of who a person really is right off the bat… instead of wasting time on creating a façade of who you really are, just to have that come to light later on. More directly answering your question though, a good first date for me was when I felt like I could be myself & have good conversation.”

Do you think that in a relationship that the guy should financially support you or should it be equal?

“I think in a dating scenario, the guy should always pay your way on dates & any activities you do together. It is polite for the girl to offer to pay, but the guy should politely decline. I think it is up to the individuals in the relationship to decide how financially intertwined they want to be outside of marriage. For me though, once married, I will always want to contribute financially to the relationship however I can.”

Do you believe in “Online Dating”?

“My philosophy has always been: People managed to get by & find people to date/their mate before the Internet existed. I think I’ll be just fine on my own… and no, Christian dating sites, I do not think God needs your help. Lol I know that times are different, but I think if people spent more time getting involved in their community or in social groups than spending time making a profile on the internet, their chances might be just as likely to meet nice people. Sometimes (like in my case) you meet the love of your life in the random & unlikely places… like on the sidewalk right outside of the place you work ☺”

Are you more of a “texter” or a “over the phone talker”?

“None of the above. Let’s hang & talk in person.”

Do all of your friends date?

“Yes, my single friends definitely do. But I’m of the age where most of my friends are married & having kiddos.”

Would you date someone that your family disapproves of?

“I have in the past, but if I was in the right frame of mind when I was younger, I would have never dated someone my family disapproves of. Their opinion means a lot to me, but obviously didn’t before my frontal lobe was developed! You live- you learn!”

Who pays on a date?

“Like I stated in a previous question, I think the guy should always pay your way on dates & any activities you do together. It is polite for the girl to offer to pay, but the guy  -just as quickly- should politely decline.”

What is a nonnegotiable?

“Hygiene. Keep it clean, guys. I’m all about that mountain man look & I’m all for guys being guys. The more scruffy & manly, the better… but take a dang shower. There’s nothing like the scent of man fresh out of the shower!”

What is an embarrassing moment you have had on a date?

“I can’t remember a time that I was personally embarrassed, but I have been embarrassed for the guy. I was unwillingly on a blind date with a medical “professional”. After (what seemed like hours) of this guy talking about himself & barely even taking breaths in his monologue for me to sneak a word in… he proceeds to show me graphic pictures of  tumors that he has removed from one of his patients all while we were at the dinner table. If I wasn’t already disgusted with his narcissism, this display of graphic & confidential material sent me over the edge. I felt like I was in dating hell. Needless to say, I cut the date as short as I could and made sure there was never a second date.”

What are deal breakers with a guy for you?

“Arrogance, lack of respect & lack of turn taking dialogue. I’m not interested in listening to a monologue on how wonderful you are. Dating is about getting to know each other & I think especially in the beginning, it should be more about the girl. I’m old school…Guys are supposed to do the pursuing, not the other way around.”

———————————————————————————————————- {{{Hope you enjoyed this dating survey as much as I did!}}} Until next time lovasssss xoxo, Alyssa

Page 6 Models Playlists

Music has been such a big part of my life. If you know me you know where I stand with my personal records. When I am sad I listen to music to drown out the rest of the world. When I am happy it gives me peace as I drown out the rest of the world. Music has always been there for me. I speak through lyrics on a record and it brings me back to life.

“Music is the most powerful form of communication in the world. It brings us all together. Even religion separates us, but a hit record unites us across religious beliefs, race, politics.” -Sean “Diddy” Combs

Knowing that music makes such an impact on my every day life I wanted to ask the girls what their TOP 10 GO-TO music playlists right now. This was fun to me because not only am I getting to see what genres they like but the style on each record.

nata

Natalie: Taylor Swift – I Know Places

Nick Jonas – Chains

Wiz Khalifa – Promises

The Naked & Famous – Punching in a Dream

Justine Skye – Collide

Ariana Grande – Love Me Harder

Vince Joy – Riptide

The Shins – New Slang

Greg Lawell – Comes & Goes

Band of Horse – The Funeral

chev

Catie Beth: Hozier – From Eden

Ariana Grande – Just A Little Bit of Your Heart

Chain Smokers – Kanye

Maroon 5 – Sugar

Passenger – Patient Love

Andy Grammar – Forever (Acoustic)

John Mayer – XO

Hootie And The Blowfish – Hold My Hand

Taylor Swift – Wildest Dreams

Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud

bloop6

Courtney: Mark Ronson (Feat. Bruno Mars) – Uptown Funk

Allan Brothers – Midnight Rider

Florida Georgia Line – Dirt

Hippie Sabotage – Your Soul

Nicki Manaj (Feat. Drake & Lil Wayne) – Truffle Butter

Nightmares on Wax – You Wish

Pearl Jam – Release

Slightly Stoopid – Closer To The Sun

Stevie Nicks – Silver Springs

Tove Lo – Habits (Stay High) [Hippie Sabotage Remix]

———————————————————————————————————- I think it is very important to not just listen to one genre of music. The style of music has changed so much over the years that Country isn’t just “Country” anymore. Rap isn’t just “Rap” anymore. Pop is most def not just “Pop” anymore. Artists have records with other artists (including from other genres) to broaden their fan base and bring something different to the industry. I think it is an amazing idea and I believe that music really is something that can bring us together. If you haven’t heard any of these songs, you should broaden yourself and listen. I was very surprised to see that each girl didn’t just listen to one specific genre of music. Let yourself open up to different styles and genres. You never know….it may be your new favorite to listen to when your needing a little “pick-me-up”. ———————————————————————————————————- Have any other questions or blog requests? Please be sure to e-mail me at page6marketing@gmail.com and I will be more than happy to consider. Until next time friends! Signing Out!

Here Catie Beth wore our Fernie Tunic – Grey and I think it matched Vanessa’s outfit perfectly.

The Snakeskin Skinny Belt adds a little bit of flavor to the mix along with the Joplin Floppy Hat.

You can also style a pair of tights with this tunic if your going for a different look or based on the weather.

Catie Beth styled this outfit with her own boots.

Court styled this look by Vanessa and changed it up a little by styling two different tanks to insure that it could be styled to perfection both ways.

Court wore our Knot Sisters No One There Jacket and styled it with our Toltec Tank and Just Black Distressed Fray Skinnies – Black with the Lasso Necklace. She also wore her own boots.
